Hi there! We are Willow and Adam, and together we make up W.A Gardening. As partners in life and in business, we are a dynamic couple who bring a synergistic, creative and ecological approach to our craft. We take pride in providing whole garden care by working from the soil up to maintain not only the gardens appeal, but also the health of the soil and plants. Our intention is to love your gardens like they are our own.
With a combined 16 years of gardening experience, we each bring unique skills and specialized knowledge to caring for your gardens and property. Building off a life long love for gardening, a passion for growing food, and a desire to work outside and in the dirt, we started W.A Gardening in the spring of 2020 in Peterborough, Ontario.
In January of 2022 we realized we wanted a change in life and decided to move to Nakusp and be with friends. We arrived at the end of February 2022 and immediately went about setting up the business. We were very fortunate to have a lot of support getting the business going and are extremely grateful for the warm welcome we received from the community of Nakusp.
We would like to give our most sincere thanks to local horticultural legend Ray Nikkel for helping us in countless ways to get started. Ray has offered us guidance, knowledge and mentorship, introductions and endorsements, and most importantly, friendship. We cannot overstate how fortunate and thankful we are to have had his help.
We would also like to acknowledge that Ray designed many of the gardens we now maintain and have the privilege to care for. Each one is a work of art that was carefully created and we feel very fortunate to now be caring for them.
With Nakusp now being home and W.A Gardening taking root, we are excited for our second year of operation and growing our business. With an eye to the 2023 season, we look forward to continuing to care for our current clients gardens and hope to have the opportunity to care for your gardens too.
